Canal Projects
For many years, public use of Valley canals was discouraged. The creative vision and hard work of community activists began to change that, and now interpretive and art projects welcome people to walk and ride on the banks of the multicity canal system. Ideahouse has collaborated with Salt River Project, municipalities, public artists, and historians to design several projects on the system. Telling stories both abstract and complex, Ideahouse has helped create a language of form and materials that provides a continuous sense of place and respect for history in canal users.
